Despite the impending climate change threat, the spirit, culture, and love of the locals are very much alive within the hearts of the Marshallese. Traveling to the Marshall Islands is easy if your country is a member of the Pacific Islands Forum, as you get your visa upon your arrival. No need to worry if you are a citizen of the United States as you don’t need one, but if your home country is not a member of the Pacific Islands Forum, you’ll need to get your visa arranged before traveling.

To visit the RMI, you will need the following:

  1. Passport: You will need a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  2. Return or onward ticket: You may be required to show proof of a return or onward ticket when entering the RMI.
  3. Health and Medical: To protect local citizens the RMI responds quickly to new potential health threats by adjusting entry requirements. It is highly recommended well before departing to the country that you inform yourself of latest restrictions and requirements, especially in relation to COVID, measles and other highly contagious diseases. With generally modest medical resources available, it is highly recommended that travel insurance is purchased to cover any unexpected events that may occur during your trip. Always refer to the RMI tourism website: https://www.rmiocit.org/tourism or with your travel agent before you travel.

It is also recommended that you take out travel insurance to cover any unexpected events that may occur during your trip.
